Privacy Policy
Effective date: March 2026 · Sacred Earth Ministry
Sacred Earth Ministry (“SEM”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting the personal data of everyone who uses this platform. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your information.
This policy is governed by the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) 2019 and its implementing framework. By using this platform, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who We Are
Sacred Earth Ministry is a registered voluntary, non-governmental, non-profit evangelistic and humanitarian ministry (CAC/IT/NO: 58522), based at PMB 4008, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, Nigeria.
For data protection enquiries, contact us at: sacredearthministryconf@gmail.com
2. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of personal data:
Account data
When you register, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed (encrypted) password. If you sign in via Google, we receive your name, email, and profile image from Google — we do not receive or store your Google password.
Payment data
We collect your email address for payment processing purposes. We do not collect, store, or have access to your card number, CVV, PIN, or any other financial credentials. All payment transactions are processed directly by Paystack (NGN payments) and Stripe (USD payments), both of which are PCI-DSS compliant. We only receive a transaction reference and confirmation status.
Subscription data
We store your membership plan, subscription status, start date, and expiry date to manage your access to the resource library.
Activity data
We log certain actions on your account including logins, resource views, and resource downloads. This data is used for security auditing and to improve the platform. We also collect your IP address and browser user-agent string for the same purposes.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data to:
- Create and manage your account
- Process payments and activate your membership
- Provide access to the resource library based on your subscription tier
- Send transactional emails (registration confirmation, payment receipt, password reset, expiry reminders)
- Detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorised access
- Comply with applicable laws and regulations
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party. We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
4. Legal Basis for Processing
Under the NDPR, we process your personal data on the following lawful bases:
- Contract — processing necessary to provide the membership services you have paid for
- Legitimate interests — security logging, fraud prevention, and platform improvement
- Consent — where you have explicitly opted in (e.g. newsletter subscription — managed separately)
- Legal obligation — where we are required to retain data by applicable Nigerian law
5. Cookies
This platform uses functional cookies only. These are strictly necessary for the platform to operate and cannot be disabled without breaking core functionality.
- Session cookie — keeps you logged in during your visit. Expires when you close your browser or log out.
- Auth token cookie — a secure, HTTP-only JWT token used to verify your identity on each request. Never accessible to JavaScript running on the page.
We do not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking cookies.
6. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on Neon (PostgreSQL), a cloud-hosted database service with encryption at rest and in transit. Resource files are stored on Supabase Storage in a private bucket — files are never served via public URLs. All file access is mediated through signed, time-limited URLs generated server-side.
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage. We never store plaintext passwords.
Despite these measures, no system is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at sacredearthministryconf@gmail.com
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as:
- Your account is active, or
- It is necessary to provide the services you have paid for, or
- Required by applicable Nigerian law
If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or legitimate business necessity (e.g. payment records for tax compliance).
8. Your Rights
Under the NDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Right of access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
- Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your data, subject to legal retention requirements
- Right to object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Right to data portability — request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
To exercise any of these rights, email us at sacredearthministryconf@gmail.com with the subject line “Data Rights Request”. We will respond within 30 days.
9. Third-Party Services
This platform integrates with the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Paystack — payment processing (NGN). See Paystack Privacy Policy
- Stripe — payment processing (USD). See Stripe Privacy Policy
- Google OAuth — optional sign-in method. See Google Privacy Policy
- Brevo — transactional email delivery. See Brevo Privacy Policy
10. Children's Privacy
This platform is not intended for use by persons under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered on this platform, please contact us immediately.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email.
